Suggestion
Langford should implement a One Water Study to guide infrastructure planning & upgrades, as well as land use & development decisions. Water reuse and the protection of existing springs, rivers, creeks, and recharge zones should take priority over this whole process. Without water, we don't have a town. And without our springs we lose the natural features that make Blanco a place that people want to live and visit.
Suggestion
These open spaces are part of what shapes Blanco's small town atmosphere.
Suggestion
Industrial growth has been "noted"? Industrial growth has been noticed, that's for sure. How about some impact fees to help fund environmental remediation and discourage further industrialization of our small, rural town?
Suggestion
FEMA maps and even First Street Maps don’t fully capture the impacts of heavy rain events in Blanco. This gap could allow future development in flood-prone areas. I recommend that land use discussions incorporate both LIDAR mapping and direct observation during flash flood conditions.
Suggestion
It would be nice to host a kickoff meeting at the library or the Gem of the Hills with the people from the Langford team so that we could ask questions and get to know everyone. Maybe put this website up on the projector and help the tech-challenged folks get their comments up. Some light refreshments and good food would make this a great community building exercise.
Suggestion
On the survey, program would NOT let me move Cyber Security, hmmm. Check for bugs?
